ProLiteracy Waiting List Resources Now on the Web
If your program is among the 70 percent of ProLiteracy affiliates that have had to put students on waiting lists, you can find new resources on the ProLiteracy Web site that can help you address this problem. They are the results of a special project designed to identify and disseminate promising practices to help local programs reduce the number of students on waiting lists.
The project was funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and involved 23 local literacy programs across the country. Products include a booklet called Reducing Waiting Lists in Adult Education and Literacy Programs, a collection of resources that the programs developed while implementing their strategies, and videos that feature the work being done by two of the participating programs.
All materials are available at www.proliteracy.org/resources.asp. A complete set of materials was sent free to each ProLiteracy group affiliate in the fall.
