Mystery and suspense stories can be a strong motivator to get students excited about reading. Having students write short story mysteries can be a great way to engage them in the creative writing process while promoting critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills. This is why the Mystery Writers of America and FLC teamed up to sponsor a unique statewide Mystery Writing Contest for adult learners.
