Fall Tutor Symposiums


Want to improve your skills as a tutor this fall?

Would you like to learn about new lesson plans, fresh strategies and resources that are available to you?

Come to one of our full day symposiums that will provide you with hands-on, interactive, multi sensory teaching techniques!

Each day symposium will focus on the utilization of Tutor 8. Tutor 8, as written by Ruth Colvin and Corrine Smith, PhD. , will provide you with a lot of new ways to tutor basic literacy, ESL and GED learners in teaching styles that is appropriate for both one-on-one and classroom settings. Every participant will walk away with a customized tutor toolkit and a Tutor 8 resource book.

Sessions are planned throughout the state. Registration is FREE and open to all Florida adult education and literacy tutors, teachers and administrators. Space is limited so be sure to pre-register with the one that is closest to you!

  • Clermont, Florida: November 26th, 2012 from 9am-4:30pm
  • Lake City, Florida: November 9th, 2012 from 9:30am-5pm
  • Tallahassee, Florida: November 17th, 2012 from 10am-4pm
  • Venice, Florida: November 28th, 2012 from 9am-4:30pm
