So we just finished off our first full day of conference! We’ve had a record number of registrations and adult learners. The exhibitors are up, running, and letting people know of their great resources. The Opening Reception is now over and new friends have been made.
The day started off with an inspiring opening general session from Mawi Asgedom. Mawi told stories about his parents and their journeys as Adult learners and provided different metaphors for reasons to keep going. Everyone in the room, adult learners, teachers, program administrators, and literacy fans were truly in awe and motivated to do something for the greater community after his speech.
General sessions also got Conference attendees excited about teaching and bringing new ideas back to their programs next week. Everyone is meeting new friends and networking to make successful events in the future.
