Call for Presenters for the 2013 FLC Conference!


Twenty-nine years later, the Florida Literacy Conference is still going strong. However, we could not do it without people like you. We are looking for presenters that have a passion to share their wisdom, insight, research, techniques and practices within the world of family and adult literacy to speak at the 2013 Conference in Captiva.  Below you will find the perks, important dates and information on the application process. j

 

Perks of presenting:

  • $25 off the regular registration rate
  • Networking with your peers and people who share your experiences
  • Priority registration

The Nitty-Gritty: Session last 1 hour and 15 minutes. You may present longer but we will have to schedule you for more than one concurrent session between May 8-10. We could also schedule you for a pre-conference workshop on May 7th. If your proposed session is longer than 1 hour and 15 minutes, please note this on the form. Concurrent sessions will be set up in classroom and theater style. If you would like a different session set up style, it needs to be requested. Please let us know who will be responsible for passing out and collecting evaluations, and making sure attendees complete the sign in sheet. We also will need to know who will keep you on time in your presentation. This may be you or a colleague that will attend with you. We will select proposed sessions based on the information that you want to cover and the content of the presentation. Do not worry if you are a repeat presenter, but keep in mind we want new and exciting information presented each year. Try to propose a refreshed, updated version of your presentation that is relevant to the times.

Need-to-know dates:

  • Presentation proposal due ONLINE: Monday, December 17th, 2012
  • Confirmation that your proposal was received: within 3 days of submitting
  • Final notification on the status of your proposed workshop: January 31, 2013

How to submit your application:Just fill out the online form! It’s that easy. Once you are done filling out the form, you can select the option that allows you to receive an email copy for your records. Keep in mind that the information provided on this form is the same information that will be used in the final conference program.
