WHAT IS THE GED® TEST?
Florida adults who don't have a high school diploma can earn a high school equivalency credential by taking the GED® Test. The GED® exam is actually a battery of four sub-tests which can be administered only through Official GED® Testing Centers and cannot be taken online. The GED® test credential is recognized nationwide and is accepted by more than 95% of U.S. employers, colleges and universities.
As of 2014, the GED® features a variety of question types, including multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and essay.
The five sub-tests are:
IMPORTANT - NEW GED® TEST IN 2014
As of January 2014, there is a new GED® test. The old test expired at the end of 2013; any student who started but did not finish and pass each sub-test by that time will need to retake the GED®, including any sub-tests they may have previously passed.
